Patterson Ridge
Patterson Ridge Proposed Development
From the September 2009 issue of The Broadcaster
The QuinnCorp land amendment proposal was brought before council on December 15, 2008. The proposal was tabled sine die by the aldermen in council until their concerns regarding geotechnical and hydrology issues can be addressed. An item tabled sine die must be accompanied by a new report, which must contain a recommendation to lift the tabled item from the table, when being brought back to a meeting. If the item has been tabled for less than one year from the date of tabling, the motion to lift the item from the table must be passed by two-thirds (10) vote.
A request to table the amendment was declined in City council by Alderman Joe Connelly during the summer. The CHPHCA has not been advised of any further work completed by the developer to address serious concerns in the areas of hydrology, soil stability, dwelling density and construction traffic routes beyond the preliminary work that was done earlier. We understand that the developer is lobbying their case with the city and council members but it is unknown at this time if any new work has been done to support their development proposal.
The CHPHCA is sincerely grateful for the diligent effort by our community members, our alderman and like-minded council members who are working to ensure that our concerns are addressed.
