February 2014  Update. LOC2013-0023

This proposal was unanimously passed  by the planning commission on Thursday 16 January 2014 with a DC designation on the land. Please  see the  link below for the  comments by the Planning commission.

 

This designation  change will go before City council on  Monday March 20 2014 for approval. Anyone who would like to send, fax or  email in comments to the City Clerk's Office  has until Thursday 27 February 2014 to do so.  Again see attached  file.

November 2013 update.

October 2013 Update.

There will be another open house on Tuesday 5th November 2013 at the  French - International School on Old Banff Coach Road from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The city planners and the developers will be there.  This land use  change is currently working its way through the Planning Commission. 2013 Nov 5 Open House Invitation.pdf

 

August  2013 Update.  

There will be another open house for this proposal  for Land use  change. Tuesday August 27th 2013  drop in times from   6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Alberta Badminton Centre  60 Patterson Blvd. SW on the main floor.

 

April 2013

This is the parcel of  undeveloped land  previously owned by the Bootsma Family, lying between  Legacy Estates on Old Banff Coach Road and Prominence Park SW. Signature Retirement Living  is proposing to build a 4 storey retirement home on this site with approximately 160+ suites.  They have submitted a proposal     (LOC-2013-023)  to the City of Calgary for a change in land use designation from 2 dwellings/ hectare to 154/hectare. They had an open house for the community to view the plans on Thursday 11 April 2013.  32 people from the community visited the open house. The site will accessed either from a berm across the ravine on the east side on Prominence Way SW or less likely through the parking lot of the Alberta Badminton Centre on Patterson Blvd.
